Dear future teacher,
I've been a teacher for about ten years, and I really was ready to not be a teacher after seeing so much apathy in the industry from the people who should be driving excellence - the owners. Luckily, I connected with Andrew and Brian and Twinkle. I found that in the dark and gloomy world of Korean English education, there is a small twinkle in the night sky that is trying to do it the right way and shining ever so brightly. Emil Zatopek said, upon winning two gold medals at the 1952 Olympics: “An athlete cannot run with money in his pockets. He must run with hope in his heart and dreams in his head.” Well, a teacher cannot inspire and educate with money in their pocket, but with hope in their heart and dreams in their head. This is a school and group of people with an abundance of hope and dreams for education and the children we proudly teach. If you want to be surrounded by meaning and be free to shape your students and the education you provide, then this is the place to be.
If you're searching for a place to truly be yourself and be valued for your love of books, or science, or history, or knowledge of Victorian toilets, or can name every kind of grass, or cry out in passion when you read Dickens, or espouse poetry as you saunter down the street, or better still, you love to inspire children to dream dreams without limits and without restraint, then give Twinkle a try.
Regards,
James
